PLACES
PLACES is an album produced by a fake band with no name, formed as a comment on the way we consume music visually in our constantly proliferating digital world. The visual artwork that accompanies music and the aesthetic of an artist, or band, is such an important part of how we choose what music we listen to. I wanted to create a visual language for a band that is so appealing it didn't matter that the music wasn't created by a real artists, the audience would be drawn in purely by visuals. I created a set of 5 music videos in the format of a Spotify VJ. I used the movement of psychogeography in order to influence the sound for each song which derived from locations I visited; the culture, colours and architecture of the place influence each songs audial and visual aesthetic.
